Recognizes Reverend Eddie Walls, Jr., for over 40 years in ministry, service as a U.S. Army veteran, and civic leadership in Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Acknowledges his election as Port Gibson alderman in 1987 and service until his retirement in December 2011, making him one of the first African-American elected officials in Port Gibson.

Commends his leadership as past NAACP president during the 12-year Port Gibson Boycott, which resulted in a favorable U.S. Supreme Court decision, and his role in successfully challenging at-large elections.

Notes his service as minister to New Come & See Missionary Baptist Church (34 years) and Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (25 years), plus his nine years as PTSA president.

Directs the presentation of this resolution to Reverend Walls and the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of Port Gibson on the occasion of "Reverend Eddie Walls, Jr., Day in Port Gibson."
