Authorizes a crime victim or the victim's first-degree relative to hire their own attorney to participate in the prosecution of the case.

Permits the victim's hired attorney to present evidence and make arguments necessary to obtain a conviction alongside the prosecutor.

Prohibits the prosecutor from limiting or controlling the victim's attorney's participation or the evidence presented.

Amends Mississippi Code Section 25-31-11 to require district attorneys to comply with these victim representation provisions.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
