Amends Section 17-25-11 to require a municipal police chief to approve deputy officers' use of official uniform and official weapons while performing private security services during off-duty hours.

Shifts approval authority from the municipal governing board and chief executive to the police chief, with approval required on an individual employee basis rather than by general order.

Requires the police chief to determine before approval that the proposed private employment will not bring disrepute to the jurisdiction, law enforcement agency, or officer, and that use of the uniform and weapon promotes public interest.

Establishes that private employers are liable for officers' acts and omissions during private security work and must indemnify the jurisdiction for all expenses and losses resulting from such acts.

Requires certified police officers to notify their law enforcement agency of private employment location, hours, and type of work, and limits uniform and weapon use to locations within the jurisdiction's geographic boundaries.
