Authorizes school districts to use corporal punishment as a disciplinary alternative, including swatting with a wooden paddle applied to a student's clothed posterior.

Requires parents requested to administer corporal punishment to their child to do so at the school facility under supervision of the principal or assistant principal.

Mandates school district discipline plans include in-school suspension as an alternative to traditional out-of-school suspension or alternative school for disciplinary periods not exceeding five days.

Requires teachers to provide daily coursework and instruction to in-school suspension instructors so students remain on task with regular coursework during the disciplinary period.

Effective date: July 1, 2013.
