Requires insurers to pay in-network health care providers directly when an insured provides written direction for benefits to be paid to that provider.

Mandates that payments to out-of-network providers for assigned benefits be made by check, draft, money order, or negotiable instrument payable to both the provider and insured, requiring endorsement from both parties.

Establishes that such dual-payee payments constitute payment in full to the provider, who cannot bill or collect from the insured beyond that amount except for deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, or noncovered services requested by the insured.

Amends Section 83-9-5 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 regarding required health insurance policy provisions.

Effective July 1, 2013.
