MS HB1305

Amends Section 51-15-118 of Mississippi Code to modify the withdrawal process for counties in the Pat Harrison Waterway District.

Requires independent audits to account for future liabilities of the district pertaining to infrastructure located in the withdrawing county, not just outstanding liabilities at the time of withdrawal.

Authorizes audits to assess a fee amount to be paid by the withdrawing county for any future benefit that county will receive from district infrastructure maintenance or improvements.

Withdrawing counties remain responsible for their portion of district bonds, contractual obligations, and other indebtedness and liabilities, payable through county appropriation, levy, or borrowing.

Takes effect upon passage.
