State Board of Education must promulgate rules and regulations governing the type, content, and frequency of financial reports that superintendents must submit to local school boards.

Financial reports must be listed as agenda items at regularly scheduled board meetings, with copies provided to all board members and included in official meeting minutes.

State Department of Education is authorized to require school districts to submit required reports on a schedule determined by the department.

Failure to comply with State Board of Education reporting rules constitutes a violation of Mississippi Public Schools Accountability Standards.

Act takes effect July 1, 2013.
