HB 1460 Summary

• Requires the Department of Human Services, State Department of Health, and Division of Medicaid to prepare and display videos in their offices covering nutrition, healthy eating, obesity prevention, and breastfeeding importance for TANF, SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid applicants and recipients.

• Mandates agencies create additional videos on prenatal health care, sexually transmitted diseases, abstinence education, birth control, marriage education, parenting skills, family preservation, and fatherhood for distribution to specified groups.

• Requires distribution of educational videos to pregnant or parenting TANF recipients ages 13-20 and their children's fathers, Medicaid family planning waiver participants and fathers, Medicaid obstetric/gynecologic providers, county health departments, WIC centers, and family resource centers.

• Makes all videos available to the general public upon request.

• Takes effect July 1, 2013.
