MS HB1462

Amends Section 31-11-3 of the Mississippi Code to authorize licensed homebuilders to be selected through competitive quotes for state-funded construction or renovation of single-family residences for university presidents on campus with project costs not exceeding $1,000,000.

Requires such presidential residence projects to be managed by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning in consultation with the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management.

Removes these projects from the standard Department of Finance and Administration oversight that typically applies to other state construction projects.
