Municipalities may enter into interlocal agreements with counties to provide police protection to any public school located within either the municipal or county jurisdiction

Interlocal agreements for providing police protection to public schools are exempt from the standard requirement of submission to the Attorney General for approval before taking effect

Such agreements must be passed by both the governing authorities of the municipality and the board of supervisors of the county

Within 30 days of the act's effective date, school police protection agreements must be presented to the Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Auditor

Standard interlocal agreements still require Attorney General approval within 60 days of submission, with failure to disapprove constituting automatic approval
