Amends Mississippi Code sections 97-11-25 and 99-19-18 to restrict sentence reductions for public officials convicted of embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds.

Persons convicted under embezzlement statutes involving $500 or more are ineligible for sentence reduction, sentence suspension, or nonadjudication.

Persons convicted of felonies involving misappropriation of public funds of any amount are ineligible for nonadjudication and cannot have sentences reduced or suspended.

Any sentence requiring house arrest for these offenses must include mandatory public service.

Effective July 1, 2013.
