Requires motor vehicle operators to maintain an insurance sticker on the lower, driver's side of the front windshield in addition to an insurance card as proof of liability insurance coverage.

Mandates insurance companies issue both an insurance card and sticker to policyholders when the motor vehicle liability insurance policy becomes effective.

Law enforcement officers may verify the insurance sticker during traffic stops or roadblocks, but cannot stop a vehicle solely to check for the sticker unless part of a roadblock operation.

Failure to maintain the insurance sticker is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $500 and driving suspension for one year, reduced to $100 if proof of insurance is provided at the hearing.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
