Court reporters for circuit and chancery courts shall accrue and receive personal leave and major medical leave under the same provisions as other state employees under Section 25-3-91.

All lawfully credited unused personal and major medical leave for court reporters shall be reported and credited for retirement purposes, subject to accrual rates and limitations in Section 25-3-91 et seq.

Court reporter salary caps are established at $40,500 for those with 5 years or less experience, $43,500 for those with more than 5 but less than 10 years experience, and $46,000 for those with 10 or more years experience.

Court reporters are designated as "employees" for purposes of state leave benefits and are employed by the Administrative Office of Courts.

The act takes effect July 1, 2013.
