Amends Mississippi Code Section 65-7-1 to revise the authorized width for ditches of public roads and highways from 16 feet to 30 feet wide, measured from ditch to ditch, wherever practicable.

Maintains the minimum width requirement for roads but removes the previous 12-foot minimum specification in conjunction with the ditch width changes.

Requires ditches and borrow pits to remain open or connected to properly drain water from road beds as practicable.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
