Amends Mississippi Code Section 11-21-15 to reduce the number of freeholders appointed in partition proceedings from three (3) to one (1).

The appointed freeholder must be discreet and unrelated to the parties by consanguinity or affinity.

Either party may object to the appointed master for cause, and the chancellor must fill the position with another appointment if the objection is sustained.

The chancellor may fill any vacancy if the master cannot serve, with appointment made in writing at any time.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
