Amends Mississippi Code Section 97-3-19 to add uniformed security guards to the definition of "peace officer" under capital murder statutes.

Killing of a uniformed security guard acting in official capacity or by reason of an act performed in official capacity constitutes capital murder if the perpetrator knew the victim was a security guard.

Uniformed security guards join existing protected categories including law enforcement officers, firemen, judges, district attorneys, and corrections personnel whose murders are capital offenses.

Effective July 1, 2013.
