Honors the life and legacy of Honorable Reverend Dr. Joe C. Gardner, who passed away on February 4, 2013, and expresses deepest sympathy to his family, colleagues, and friends.

Recognizes Gardner's seven years of legislative service representing District 11 (parts of Tate and Panola Counties) beginning in 2007, and his roles as Chairman of the House Ethics Committee and member of multiple House committees.

Acknowledges Gardner's diverse professional background as a former fire chief, retired school administrator, U.S. Army Reserve retiree, and businessman, along with his educational achievements including a doctorate degree.

Commends Gardner's commitment to Christian ministry as a pastor and his numerous civic affiliations including the Ministerial Alliance, Veterans of Foreign Wars, NAACP, and Masonic Lodge.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Representative Gardner's family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
