Commemorates and congratulates the Mississippi School for the Blind on its 165th anniversary, officially established on March 2, 1848, with a $2,500 appropriation.

Designates March 4, 2013, as Mississippi School for the Blind Awareness Day and March 2013 as Blind and Visually Impaired Awareness Month.

Acknowledges the school's history including its founding by blind philanthropist James Champlain in 1846-1847, integration of students in 1974, and achievement as the second school for the blind in the nation to establish a marching band in 2012.

Recognizes the school's accreditations from the National Accreditation Council for Agencies Serving the Blind and Visually Impaired (1980), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1984), and its continued accreditation maintenance through 2009.

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to the Superintendent of the Mississippi School for the Blind, State Superintendent of Public Education, and Capitol Press Corps.
