Commemorates the life and legacy of James Adair "Jimmy" Pigford, a Meridian performing arts legend who passed away on February 4, 2013

Recognizes Pigford's stage and screen career including appearances in 30 television shows ("The Millionaire," "Burns and Allen," "Father Knows Best") and films ("Tea and Sympathy," "Shake, Rattle and Rock")

Honors Pigford's 53-year career at Meridian Little Theatre, where he directed over 200 plays, grew season membership from 382 to more than 2,000, and served as full-time resident director beginning in 1965

Acknowledges his contributions including founding the "First Nighters" patron group, organizing the Ladies Guild in 1968, creating the Youth Division in 1969, and receiving multiple awards including Man of the Year in 2012

Extends sympathy to Pigford's family and friends, with copies of the resolution to be furnished to the family and Capitol Press Corps
