Commends artist George Berry, Sr. for his award-winning wood carving work spanning more than 50 years using only a pocketknife as his primary tool.

Recognizes Berry's contributions to Mississippi's artistic community, including teaching positions at Piney Woods School (1972-1984), the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi, and John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina.

Acknowledges his major awards including the Mississippi Arts Commission Folk Arts Fellowship (1999), Governor's Awards for Excellence in the Arts (2001), Hometown Hero Shining Example Award (2003), and Mississippi Ageless Hero Award for Creativity (2004).

Notes Berry's work has been exhibited in museums including the Old Capitol Museum, Museum of Natural Science, and featured in publications such as Southern Living and Mississippi Outdoors.
