Acknowledges Mrs. Jessie B. Williams for being recognized in the United States House of Representatives as a great parent by Congressman Bennie Thompson.

Mrs. Williams was born January 4, 1944, in Greenville, Mississippi, and has served 38 years as a teacher in the Shaw School District, teaching all Social Science Department subjects.

She was the first African-American teacher to integrate public schools in the Mississippi Delta and received Star Teacher and Teacher of the Year awards multiple times.

Served in various leadership roles including appointments to the Health and Human Services Board by Governor Ray Mabus, and served on the Washington County Election Commission and other community boards.

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to Mrs. Williams and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
