Commends the life and legacy of Casey Marion Smith, Sr., who passed away on March 4, 2013, and expresses sympathy to his family, colleagues, and friends.

Recognizes Smith's public service in Ackerman and Choctaw County, including two terms as alderman, service as Public Works Superintendent, Fire Chief, and Deputy Marshall for 11 years.

Acknowledges Smith's founding of Ackerman's first Fire Department, establishment of the annual Ackerman School Reunion, and creation of successful waterworks supply businesses and a woodworking business called "Poppa's Country."

Highlights Smith's civic involvement with the Ackerman Masonic Lodge #119 and Gideon's International after his 1985 retirement, and his dedication to his church, family, and community.
