Notes Alcorn received three awards at the 2012 HBCU Awards ceremony: HBCU of the Year, Male Alumnus of the Year (Dr. Shelby Wilkes), and Best Alumni Publication for The Alumni Magazine

Credits the university's faculty, students, alumni, and staff for its academic reputation and the recognition received

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Alcorn State University and members of the Capitol Press Corps
