Requests the House Rules Committee to reconsider or suspend its rules to take further action on Senate Bill No. 2207 and pass it out of committee for a full House vote.

Senate Bill No. 2207 would extend repealers on four Mississippi Medicaid Law code sections scheduled to expire on July 1, 2013.

The repealers affect Section 43-13-107, which establishes the Division of Medicaid in the Office of the Governor, and Section 43-13-145, which funds the Medicaid program through assessments on health care facilities including hospitals.

The House Rules Committee tabled Senate Bill No. 2207 on February 14, 2013, but the bill remains alive until the March 5, 2013 deadline for Senate bills to be reported out of committee.

Failure to extend the repealers before July 1, 2013 would harm Medicaid recipients and providers, making immediate legislative action necessary.
