Request the House Rules Committee to reconsider or suspend its rules to take further action on Senate Bill No. 2207, which would extend repealers on four code sections of Mississippi Medicaid Law set to expire July 1, 2013.

Senate Bill No. 2207 would extend repealers affecting Section 43-13-107 (which creates the Division of Medicaid in the Office of the Governor) and Section 43-13-145 (which provides Medicaid funding through assessments on health care facilities, including hospitals).

The bill remains alive until the March 5, 2013 deadline for Senate bills to be reported out of committee, despite being tabled by the Rules Committee on February 14, 2013.

Senate Bill No. 2207 is the only remaining vehicle available to address the Medicaid repealers before the end of the 2013 Regular Session, and allowing them to expire would be disastrous for Medicaid recipients and providers.

Direct the House Rules Committee to pass Senate Bill No. 2207 out of committee so the full House can vote on it.
