Recognizes their contributions during the struggle for equality in Marshall County, with some participating directly in the Civil Rights Movement and others indirectly

Honors their perseverance in raising families and farming land despite facing harassment and denial of self-determination during difficult times for African-American males

Acknowledges their faith, noting they witnessed the election of the first African-American President of the United States

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Mt. Peel Missionary Baptist Church, each of the four honorees, and the Capitol Press Corps
