Increases the age threshold for claiming a jury service exemption from 65 years old to 70 years old.

Citizens aged 70 and older may claim exemption from jury duty as a personal privilege without appearing in court by providing information to the clerk of court to verify eligibility.

Maintains existing exemption for individuals who have served as grand jurors or petit jurors in any litigated case within the preceding 2 years.

Clarifies that persons who have served as jurors in one court cannot claim the exemption in other courts where they may be called to serve.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
