Senate Bill 2102 Summary

• Authorizes issuance of distinctive motor vehicle license tags for supporters of the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign, Nathan's Legacy Foundation, Jackson Zoo, Pearl River County School District, Brookhaven School District, Lone Survivor Foundation, Greenville Public School District, and Warren Central High School, each with a $30 annual fee.

• Distributes the $30 fee from each distinctive tag as follows: $24 to the designated organization or entity, $1 to Mississippi Burn Care Fund, $2 to State Highway Fund, and $1 to special fund in Section 27-19-44.2; tax collectors retain $2 per application.

• Amends Section 27-19-56.15 to revise distribution of fees from Louisiana State University distinctive license tags, directing $44 per tag to the Bayou Bengal Booster Club of Mississippi instead of the State General Fund.

• Amends Section 27-19-56.22 to allow local chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to request that the Coleman, Alexander, Possner Foundation distribute fees generated by their members' license tag purchases directly to the local chapter.

• Reauthorizes distinctive license tags for Southaven High School beginning July 1, 2013, and requires satisfaction of Section 27-19-44(3) provisions by July 1, 2016 for issuance to continue.
