MS SB2119

Establishes a pilot program effective in the 2013-2014 school year requiring local school boards in the 18 Delta counties to implement a full-day prekindergarten program if the district has a "C," "D," or "F" rated school for two consecutive years.

Requires pilot program districts to utilize state source funds, subject to appropriations, to fund the mandatory prekindergarten program.

Amends Mississippi Code Section 37-7-301 to add this mandatory prekindergarten requirement to the list of school board powers and duties.

Program is limited to the 18 Delta counties as identified in House Bill No. 1034 from the 2006 Regular Session.
