Amends Section 41-29-144 of Mississippi Code to clarify the offense of unlawfully acquiring, obtaining, or attempting to acquire controlled substances through concealment of material fact, commonly known as "doctor shopping"

Expands the methods of illegal acquisition to include: misrepresentation, fraud, deception or subterfuge; forgery or alteration of prescriptions; concealment of material fact; and use of a false name or address

Adds provision that information communicated to practitioners in efforts to unlawfully procure controlled substances shall not be considered privileged communication

Maintains penalty of imprisonment for not less than one year nor more than five years and a fine of not more than $1,000, or both
