Removes the maximum limitation on the number of students who may be admitted to the Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Program each year.

Establishes a minimum of 15 students will be admitted to the program annually, provided there are at least 15 qualified applicants.

Program continues to focus on recruiting undergraduate students interested in careers as family physicians or generalist physicians in rural or medically underserved areas of Mississippi.

Maintains existing requirements that applicants must be competitive for admission to the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and be approved by majority vote of the commission.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
