Requires university, community/junior college, and state agency internal audit directors to submit final audit reports directly to the State Auditor, rather than only upon request

Mandates that follow-up reports on corrective actions taken after audits be provided to the State Auditor, in addition to agency heads and audit committees

Requires the annual report listing completed audits and internal audit activities be automatically provided to the State Auditor within 120 days after each fiscal year ends

Maintains existing requirements for audit reports to be available upon request to the Legislature, Attorney General, Governor, and external auditors

Effective date: July 1, 2013
