Documents over 50 films, 21 television movies, 26 documentaries, 2 television series, and hundreds of commercials and music videos filmed in Mississippi since 1973.

Notes film and television productions have generated more than $200 million in direct expenditures and hundreds of thousands of paychecks for Mississippians over the past 40 years.

Declares January 17, 2013, as "Mississippi Film Day" to honor the business and civic energy generated by the state's film industry and its cultural impact.

Directs the resolution be forwarded to the Mississippi Film Office, Division of Tourism, Mississippi Development Authority, Mississippi Public Broadcasting, and Mississippi Arts Commission for distribution.
