Commends and congratulates Dallas Stricker, a six-year-old from Hattiesburg, on being selected as the 2012 State Games of Mississippi AT&T Male Athlete of the Year.

Dallas competed in seven sports at the 2012 State Games, winning 7 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal in events including track and field, cross-country, cycling, powerlifting, and road racing.

Despite weighing only 38 pounds, Dallas achieved athletic performances that exceeded those of most adults in his age group, completing cross-country and 5K races in under 30 minutes.

Dallas comes from an athletic family with all five Stricker children competing at the State Games; his older sister Kayla was the 2009 Female Athlete of the Year and sister Christie was co-named 2012 Female Athlete of the Year.

The resolution directs that this commendation be presented to Dallas Stricker and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
