Commemorates the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in Holmes County, Mississippi, occurring March 28-29, 2013.

Recognizes Sue Lorenzi Sojourner and her late husband Henry Lorenzi Sojourner for their civil rights work in Holmes County from fall 1964 to summer 1969.

Acknowledges Sue Sojourner's documentation efforts through her book "Thunder of Freedom" (published January 2013 by University Press of Kentucky), which includes oral histories, photographs, and accounts of community organizing during the Civil Rights Movement.

Notes the Sojourners legally changed their surname from Lorenzi to Sojourner in 1972 to honor abolitionist Sojourner Truth.

Directs presentation of the resolution to Sue Sojourner and Reverend Zelpha M. Whatley, Chairperson, and to the Capitol Press Corps.
