Julia Shaw Green of Nesbit, Mississippi, passed away on March 9, 2013; she was born October 11, 1948, in Lambert, Mississippi.

Taught high school English for 25 years and served as Congressional Constituent Liaison for Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker for 13 years.

Earned Bachelor of Arts and Master in Education degrees from Delta State University; was active in First Baptist Church of Olive Branch and the Olive Twig Philanthropic Group.

Inspired the careers of state legislators Senators Bill Hawks, Merle Flowers, and David L. Parker, and Representatives Wanda Jennings and Forest Hamilton.

Senate and House mourn her loss, commend her legacy of public service and achievement, and extend sympathy to her surviving family including her husband Jimmy Green of 44 years, son Bret Green, two granddaughters, and five siblings.
