HB 1073 Summary

• Prohibits a lobbyist from lobbying on behalf of a client regarding any executive or legislative action by an agency, official, or employee with whom the lobbyist has a personal services contract.

• Requires lobbyists to disclose all personal services contracts entered into with any executive agency, executive official, public official, or public employee.

• Amends Section 25-9-120 to add "and Parks" to the name of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks on the Personal Service Contract Review Board and establishes a vice chairman position for the board.

• Brings forward existing definitions and exemptions related to lobbying (Sections 5-8-3, 5-8-7, and 37-101-15) for possible amendment.

• Takes effect July 1, 2014.
