Court reporters who are employees of the Administrative Office of Courts are prohibited from engaging in freelance court reporting and shall be removed from office if they do so.

Court reporters shall receive vacation time equivalent to personal leave for state employees under the same schedule as state employees in Section 25-3-93.

All county court reporters will become employees of the Administrative Office of Courts effective July 1, 2014.

Salary caps for circuit and chancery court reporters are set at $40,500 for those with five years or less experience, $43,500 for those with more than five but less than ten years, and $46,000 for those with ten or more years of experience.

The act takes effect July 1, 2014.
