Amends Section 63-7-43 to explicitly authorize the Mississippi Department of Public Safety to approve or disapprove lighting devices, including light bars, and establish standards for their installation and aiming.

Makes it a misdemeanor offense for any person to use a lighting device that has been disapproved by the Department of Public Safety, with punishment according to Section 63-9-11.

Brings forward Section 63-7-45 to establish procedures for the Department to review approved lighting devices being sold commercially and suspend or revoke approvals if devices fail to comply with requirements.

Requires the Department to provide 30 days' notice before conducting hearings on whether approved devices meet requirements, and allows 90 days for manufacturers to cure deficiencies before approval suspension or revocation.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
