Requires each member of the Mississippi House of Representatives and Senate to submit to a drug test at their own expense during the first month of their term of office, or within the first month of the next legislative session if elected to fill a vacancy.

Members may inform the test administrator about any prescription or over-the-counter medications they are taking before the test.

Members who test positive for unlawful drug use must be provided with a list of approved substance use disorder treatment providers available in their residential area.

Drug test results are classified as private records and disclosure to third parties is prohibited.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
