Requires scholarship recipients to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale at the end of each academic year as a condition for renewal.

Requires recipients to make steady academic progress toward a certificate or degree as outlined in the institution's Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards.

Replaces medical examination requirement for proving permanent and total disability with review of four documents: letter from former supervisor/employer, physician statement, Public Employees' Retirement System verification, and Social Security Administration verification.

Applies to recipients of the Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters Scholarship under Mississippi Code Section 37-107-1.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
