MS HB130

Creates the Twenty-third Circuit Court District consisting of Madison County with two judges designated as "Place One" and "Place Two" for appointment and election purposes.

Amends the Twentieth Circuit Court District to consist of Rankin County only, removing Madison County from that district.

Authorizes two full-time legal assistants for the Twenty-third Circuit Court District's district attorney, both as baseline and as conditional positions if funds are appropriated or county supervisors adopt a resolution to fund them.

Amends criminal investigator provisions to remove the Twentieth Circuit Court District from the list of districts authorized additional investigators, while maintaining existing authorization for other districts.

Effective July 1, 2014.
