Department of Revenue must develop a system using auction or similar procedures to market and sell personalized and distinctive license tags under specified Mississippi Code sections (27-19-48, 27-19-56.4, 27-19-56.7, 27-19-56.8, and 27-19-56.15).

Department may contract with a vendor or other entity to assist in developing and operating the auction system.

System must be implemented for marketing and sale of license tags beginning October 1, 2017.

Department must file a status report with the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives by December 1, 2015.

Department has authority to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to implement the system in accordance with the Mississippi Administrative Procedures Law; effective date is July 1, 2014.
