Clarifies that at least $10.00 from each fee collected under sections 25-7-19(1)(a), (c), and (g) shall be designated for sheriff salaries as authorized in Section 25-3-25.

Revises sheriff salary schedules based on county population, increasing compensation across multiple population categories (e.g., counties over 100,000 population now receive $99,000 annually instead of $84,000).

Establishes a mandatory continuing education requirement of 20 hours annually for all sheriffs, with courses approved by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training.

Requires the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training to reimburse counties for expenses incurred by sheriffs and deputy sheriffs attending approved training programs.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
