MS HB1650

Authorizes the City of Madison, Mississippi to adopt an ordinance allowing uniformed law enforcement officers and municipal employees to issue citations for violations of zoning, building/safety codes, housing/rental ordinances, sign ordinances, or property maintenance codes.

Presumes the owner of record according to Madison County tax rolls is responsible for the violation and may be charged accordingly.

Prohibits arrest for failure to appear in response to citation except upon affidavit and issuance of an arrest warrant.

Eliminates the requirement to enter such cases on the municipal court docket or final judgment in the court minute book, except when an arrest warrant is issued.

Takes effect upon passage.
