All-terrain vehicle owners who are Mississippi residents must register their vehicles with the sheriff's department of their county of residence beginning July 1, 2014.

Registration forms must include owner name and address, age and sex, vehicle make/model/serial number, acquisition information, and where the vehicle is usually kept.

The Department of Public Safety shall establish and maintain a statewide ATV registration network to provide immediate response to sheriffs' departments and law enforcement agencies regarding ATV-related reports or complaints.

A one-time registration fee of $10.00 is required, with $6.00 forwarded to the Department of Public Safety for network expenses and $4.00 retained by the county sheriff and paid to the chancery clerk's general fund.

Sheriffs shall issue registrants a decal designed by the Department of Public Safety containing identifying information visible from a reasonable distance.
