State and School Employees Health Insurance Management Board must review and study whether to expand coverage for autism spectrum disorders treatment under the State and School Employees Health Insurance Plan.

Board may employ or contract for consulting and actuarial services necessary to evaluate expanding coverage.

Board shall consider early intervention and treatment services for autism spectrum disorders offered by public schools under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to coordinate resources and minimize benefit redundancy.

Board must submit a report to the Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and House and Senate Insurance Committee Chairmen by December 1, 2014, including analysis, conclusions, recommendations, and financial impact estimates for expanding coverage.
