Prohibits health insurance policies from denying coverage of medically necessary prescription drugs based solely on whether the licensed health care provider ordering or dispensing the drug is in-network or out-of-network.

Applies to all individual and group health and accident insurance policies issued by commercial insurers in Mississippi, including experience-rated contracts, indemnity contracts, self-insured plans, and self-funded plans.

Makes any policy provision that violates this requirement invalid and unenforceable.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
