Amends Section 83-9-3 of Mississippi Code to prohibit commercial insurers from limiting or restricting an insured's ability to assign benefits to a licensed health care provider.

Requires commercial insurers to honor benefit assignments for one year from the initial assignment date or until the insured revokes the assignment, whichever occurs first.

Makes any policy provision that violates the assignment requirements invalid.

Brings forward Section 83-9-5 (which contains required and optional insurance policy provisions) for possible amendment.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
