Requires sex offenders who volunteer with organizations having direct, private, and unsupervised contact with minors to notify the organization of their conviction in writing at the time of volunteering.

Mandates that organizations accepting such volunteers must notify parents or guardians of any minors involved in the organization about the offender's criminal record.

Applies to all registered sex offenders regardless of conviction date.

Requires sex offenders currently volunteering to resign or notify the organization immediately upon receipt of notice of this duty, or face penalties under the sex offender registration chapter.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
